Silver jewellery?

When did silver jewellery become the jewellery of choice as opposed to gold? Will silver jewellery still be fashionable next year? Any references/weblinks, welcome Thanks

9. yes it'll still be fashionable this year and the next but also so is gold. not real gold but just the color. anyways, we like silver because the color is more future/cool. have you ever seen a gold space outfit? its always silver. silver matches with anything, but gold is considered to be more 'old' and can't match everything.
10. Might not all be silver. I'm guessing celebs will be wearing white gold or platinum. Yellow gold looks tacky, especially chunky "bling", but silver/white gold/platinum is more subtle - except on chavs who wear stupidly big tat!

Have you heard about the different "seasons" that people are categorized as to choose what colours look better on them? It goes for silver and gold jewellery too.
